Feeling My Way – 99 Poetic Journeys

Feeling My Way Click for Full Size Image

A fourth collection of poetry by Minx Boren. The author says, “For me, poems are a way to pare feelings, and the thoughts they evoke, down to their essence, to something essential.  As such, each is a unique doorway into the realm of Self.”  Unlike self-help books that offer good advice, poetry allows the reader to confront his own truths and touch her own deep wisdom.  $22.95.

Soul Notes

Soul Notes

I have always enjoyed reading poetry and have been writing my own since my teens. I've written my own holiday poem for more than 30 years. I've composed (and read aloud) all sorts of people poems, tributes both humorous and serious, in celebration of special occasions. I published Soul Notes, a first collection of intimate poems after years of hiding them away in boxes. It felt very courageous to do so.

Written (and mulled over and rewritten) over the past twenty years or so, the poems in Soul Notes have been shared with friends, during workshops I have led, and on the web in the Tea Garden. This small book is truly a labor of love. You are invited to open to any page and open your heart and mind to the words penned there.  $13.00.

Soul Notes Too

Soul Notes Too

Soul Notes Too is a second collection of poems. There is a basic premise in coaching that, if you want something new to come into your life, you must first clear out the old. Cleaning a closet, a garage, a desk seems to magically create an opening for new possibilities to emerge. In this case, it was emptying the old hidden “shoebox” of poetry that provided the momentum. After publishing Soul Notes the creative floodgates opened wide and, since then, poem after poem has found its way onto paper, a number of which appear in this next collection. (There are still more in the shoebox.)  $13.00.

Ripe ~ A Collection of Passionate Poetry and Pears

Ripe: A Collection of Passionate poetry and Pears

In Ripe, my creative muse has taken a big leap. In partnership with Patti Burris, the wonderful artist whose paintings grace the covers of Soul Notes and Soul Notes Too, I have put together a collection of poems about sensuality and sexuality, in the wake of turning 50. Each poem is presented in conjunction with one of Patti's gorgeous and evocative paintings. AND each partnership of pear(s) and poem is artfully placed on facing pages by a talented graphic artist and book designer, Kenneth Ruelen. The result is Ripe - A Collection of Passionate Poetry and Pears published by and immediately available through Xlibris. Ripe is available in both hard cover ($28.99) and soft cover ($22.99) plus standard shipping @ $4.48 for one book plus $0.99 per additional book.

Soul Notes and Soul Notes Too

I absolutely loved your book of Soul Notes. Every page, a blessing and a gift. So many of your poems have special meaning for different souls in my life. I plan to share your book in exactly that way!!! Keep knowing your truth!
~ Hafeezah

I truly enjoyed [your poems]: your ability to examine emotions and to articulate them in their almost endless variety and subtlety is quite impressive--and enjoyable. Although I guess that all writers ultimately write about themselves, your honest, clear responses to all the phenomena you touch upon offer a uniquely personal, yet welcome communal songfest we can all participate in. Thanks.
~ Paul Neuthaler

I have just read your poems and I am gasping for breath . . . for real. You have spilled your guts and come up refreshed and clean. Bravo!
~ Florence Ross

Minx Boren's Soul Notes is truly food for the soul. She writes directly from her heart to ours with a wonderful mix of poignant simplicity, powerful word-play, and deep knowing. I find myself picking it up for different reasons -- opening it to a random page to guide me in a moment of reflection, or escaping into her poetic landscape while sitting on a New York City subway . . . what a magical parallel universe it offers! And yet at the same time, she's writing from her own very personal experience and perceptions of the world around her. That authenticity and vulnerability is what makes Soul Notes such a gift to anyone who journeys through it.
~ Deborah Roth, MA

Ripe

Such a sense of passion and desire. I was blown away by Minx's openness and honesty.
~ Jeff Mensh

As rich and succulent as a ripe pear, the verses Minx has created evoke the beauty and sensuality of intimacy. Each and every word is delicious.
~ Marilyn Spungin

Insightfully written. Practical and thought provoking. A wonderful read, particularly with a partner or lover.
~ Jay Halperyn

Feeling My Way - 99 Poetic Journeys

Minx Boren’s poetry touches the heart and challenges the mind. I’ve experienced the power of her words on hundreds in my trainings who have been moved to another level of consciousness by the authenticity of her voice. The mark of a true poet.
~ Craig Neal, Founder – Heartland Circle

Thanks for your continual supply of creativity! This issue of The Sage-ing Journal includes your poem “forever friends.” I love the sentiments of your work – so fresh, alive, engaging! I get a visual sense of what you write. Your words speak to the issues of aging and fully living, living fully.
~ Lori Miller, Editor, Spiritual Eldering Sage-ing Journal

I have said it many times and it is true, your poems speak to me in a way that not many other writings do. I read them with a smile on my lips and in my heart.
~ Ann Fonfa President, The Annie Appleseed Project

How moved I am by your "in memoriam". How fortunate for you to be able to translate your impressions and feelings into poetry, and how good for the rest of us that you share.
~ Esther Flaster, Theater Director

[In church yesterday the Minister said that] a poet's job is: to observe life; to assimilate it; to condense it; and to hand it back to us. That's what you do.
~ Ione Wiren, Healing Touch practitioner

Of one thing I am certain...your poetry truly touches the reader with heartfelt words of wisdom and a sense that you are leading them inward on a deep and beautiful journey.
~ Robert Stack, The Fame Coach

Love your stuff, picked up 2 books of your poetry and did not put them down till I was done. Awesome! … And now you have two fans from Boca. My ten year old is reading your book. He found it and said he wanted to read if for his required twenty minutes. He said it helps him feel calm, he loves it and it helps his headache go away.
~ Amy Botwinick, author Congratulations on Your Divorce
